Dallas Guide: Top 10 Healthy Places to Eat Out

Eating out and staying on track with your fitness goals doesn’t always go hand in hand. But if you choose carefully where you go and what you order off of the menu, it is totally doable!

I’ve made it my mission over the years to find places with great atmospheres and most importantly great, nutritious options on their menu. Here are my 10 favorite places to grab a healthy & delicious bite in Dallas when i’m on the go or just want to go out and be social with friends.

#1 – HG SPLY CO.

Address: 2008 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75206
My go to order off the menu: A House Bowl w/ zucchini “pasta” & salmon
Average cost per meal: $13- $20

Almost everything on the menu here is made with fresh, whole ingredients, catering to diets such as paleo, gluten free & vegetarian. They offer a wide variety of selections from burgers to salads to my favorite, the house grain bowls. They also have a bar located on their beautiful rooftop deck – great for a night out with friends.

#2 – Flower Child

My go to order off the menu: The Mother Earth bowl w/ salmon or chicken
Average cost per meal: $10-$16

This healthy eat out is fairly new to Dallas and not only is the food to die for but the restaurant itself is so cute! Flower Child’s menu offers a wide variety of food with a labeled menu to help point out which items are vegan, vegetarian or gluten free. They also offer kombucha on tap & a few “healthy” sweet treats I’d recommend giving a try!

Modern Market makes everything in house, from scratch from their pizza dough to their salad dressing. Their menu is made to be able to fit almost any dietary needs or restrictions. You can taste the quality and freshness of their meals all while staying at a fair price point. This is a chain so check around your cit6y if you aren’t from Dallas & you may have one too!

#4 – Salata

My go to order off the menu: Make your own salad – romaine, kale, avocado, cucumber, snow peas, apple, walnuts, grilled chicken, balsamic vinaigrette on the side
Average cost per meal: $8 – $12

I have loved Salata since high school. It is super easy to run in and grab a big salad or salad wrap to go, and since it is make your own you can always get exactly what you want on it. The service and price point are both really good and the quality of their ingredients are far superior to most other quick serve salad bars I have tried out.

#5 – Nekter Juice Bar

Address: 6712 Snider Plaza, Dallas, TX 75205
My go to order off the menu: The Sublime Juice, acai banana berry bowl sub gluten free granola + add hemp seeds
average cost per meal: $7 – $11

Nekter was the first job I ever worked the summer after I turned 16. Working there I learned a lot about superfoods and nutrition and fell in love with fruit! Starting in California, Nekter offers a selection of acai bowls, smoothies and juices as well as juice cleanses & grab and go cold pressed juices. The ingredients used are all fresh, they make their own cashew nut milk in house daily to use in their smoothies and bowls and they add no extra sugar or processed junk to anything you order there.

Southpaws is a tiny almost hole in the wall place located in Preston Center but everything on their menu is really healthy and delicious. They have great sandwiches and wraps as well as salads and bowls. They also offer a variety of fresh pressed juices.

Spin is the best pizza discovery i’ve made in Dallas! As far as pizza goes it is fairly healthy and because they offer the mini Mia pizza duo which I order, it is a great place to go if you are craving pizza and want to get that fix but not over eat. They also have more locations outside of Dallas.

#10 – Dive Coastal Cuisine

Address: 3404 Rankin St, Dallas, TX 75205
My go to order off the menu: Fish tacos, Seared ahi tuna wrap, hearts of palm salad add chicken, ice tea!!!
Average cost per meal: $12 – $20

I am lucky enough that Dive is right down the street from my house! If you love seafood like me this is a great local spot to try, with lots of healthy options in their salads, wraps and tacos. Something fun about Dive is they have an ice tea bar! There are a bunch of different ice teas made fresh to choose from with add in’s like mint, basil, etc. Normally I stick to water with my meals and during my day but this is a fun, healthy way to switch things up!
